Senior Editor Dana Dickey attended a weekend workshop at Kripalu conducted by Dr. Frank Lipman, author of Revive: Stop Feeling Spent and Start Living Again. Expecting to spend three days taking yoga classes, Dickey was surprised to find herself listening to science-based presentations on feeling well that emphasized contemporary dietary ills, such as excess sugar, processed foods, nutrient deficiencies, environmental toxins, food allergies, and media overstimulation. In between sessions, Dr. Lipman’s assistant, Jodi, instructed guests in yoga postures and had them press their feet into tennis balls.
